CJ was raised in the Presbyterian church where she learned the foundations of her faith. She accepted Jesus Christ as a young girl and renewed her commitment to her savior in Junior High School. She received a ukulele from her grandmother in 4th grade and then a guitar in 5th grade and she has been playing music and writing songs ever since.
She would help lead worship for her church youth group, which even included an outreach trip to Alaska where they traveled by small boat and put on a musical presentation to small villages and towns from Sitka on south. Then while at Pepperdine University she was blessed to participate in campus "coffeeshop shows", as the opener for a Sally Struther's presentation and as well as the opening band for a Randy Stonehill concert. (This was to be the first of many times that she would have that honor over the next 20 years)
She has participated in worship teams from Malibu to the Island of Oahu, had the opportunity to sing the national anthem in front of 43,000 Diamondback fans, been the full-time worship leader and outreach director for Calvary Chapel Tri-City for over 10 years, and the "sub-worship leader" for various foursquare churches throughout the valley.
Her emphasis is always that true "Praise and Worship" is our obedience to God in every aspect of our life.every moment of every day. each and every decision we make. not just the Body singing together on Sunday morning. But that is that very special time when we can be with our brothers and sisters in unity and thank and praise Him together for all He has done in our lives through the Holy Spirit, by the sacrifice of His Son.
She is incredibly blessed and knows this is God's appointment. She is honored to minister with the team that God has put together at NewLife and is expectant of all He will do through His Holy Spirit as we move forward into this new season, awaiting Jesus' soon return.
